CMNE ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use CMNE:
- Account information: your display name, email address, and zip code when you create an account.
- Location data: your approximate location (with your permission) to show nearby events on the map. We do not store your precise location on our servers.
- Event data: events you post, including title, description, address, date/time, photos, and ticket pricing.
- Activity data: RSVPs, ticket purchases, event comments, reviews, and saved events.
- Device data: a push notification token (with your permission) to send you alerts about events you follow.
- Calendar data: if you choose to save an event to your calendar, we request calendar access only to create that entry. We do not read or store your calendar data.
- Payment data: ticket payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details โ Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Display events near your location on the map and browse screen
- Manage your RSVPs, ticket purchases, and event hosting
- Send push notifications about new RSVPs, followers, and events (only with your permission)
- Enable comments, reviews, and community features
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
- Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share limited information in the following ways:
- Public profile: your display name is visible to other users when you host events, post comments, or receive reviews.
- Event hosts: if you RSVP or purchase a ticket to an event, the host can see your display name on their attendee list.
- Service providers: we use Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), and Expo (push notifications). Each is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security policies enforced at the database level, ensuring users can only access data they are authorized to see. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
